We learned about the structure of the registry as well as
what program we can use to perform tasks within.Regedit
in Windows is used to make changes but there are more
powerful shareware and commercial utilities you can use.

You can make serveral types of changes to your registry
which should be performed only after you perform a backup.
You should remember that changes to your registry take
effect immediately.

Renaming keys or values can be done as well as deleting
contents of values.You may want to change an icon on the
desktop or change the background colors.Even though these
changes can be made in the control panel,these changes can
be adjusted in the registry.

While it is simpler to use the control panel,having the knowledge
to make these changes in your registry will give you the option
of having another avenue to tweak computer adjustments.

One really neat procedure you can perform in the registry is to
remove programs from the Add/Remove Programs folder.Go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows/
CurrentVersion/Uninstall.From there you can highlight the key
you want to remove and press delete.

REPAIRING AND CLEANING THE REGISTRY

As you remove and install software and hardware to your
system,the registry grows and becomes cluttered.This will
